Welcome to my place, which I hope will be a cozy hub for you during your stay in Iceland. Below is information that might be of use for you while staying here.

Light switch to living room is on the corner of the wall behind the big wooden divider. The other switch that is closer to the desk is for the balcony (if you smoke then only do so on the balcony, thanks).

Electrical outlets are by the bed (2 available) in the bedroom, 2 in the kitchen (one by the toaster and another in the corner by the window). There is also one outlet in the living room in the right corner by the window, a few inches under the book shelf. If you should need more then there is a multiple outlet under the desk in the living room.

Towels are in the closet in the bathroom. If you should need shampoo then feel free to use whats there. After taking a shower I ask that you keep the door open and also open the balcony door for 10 minutes or so, just for the moisture to get out.

The heating of the apartment is inside the ceiling, so its not the normal system. There should be no need to change the heat but if for some reason it feels cold there are two options. Inside the closet in the hallway, where the jackets are, there is an upper closet, closer to the ceiling. Inside that is a main control which can be turned up and down, higher number more heat. Only use this one, NOT the 3 individual controllers going up into the ceiling. Second option is plugging in the electric heater I have, and is located under the big bookshelf in the bedroom. Please make sure to turn it off during the night and when you leave the apartment during the day, and never put anything on it, as it will catch fire!

The kitchen utensils, pots and pans etc can be found throughout the kitchen, just open a few cabinets and drawers and you´ll find what your looking for :) If you need a bit of salt, coffee or sauces then its ok to use what you find, but if you are using the coffee every day I ask you to leave 500-1000ISKR instead.

The power and light in the bedroom is not obvious. The main light is the main switch by the door, easy. The light by the bed, and the power outlet for charging, is turned on/off by flipping the switch on the wall by the bed. The lights on the corner of the bed, closer to the ceiling, can only be turned on if the switch by the bed is switched on! Sorry for the complication, but its quite nice when you get used to it.

The water takes a bit of time to heat up, that´s not unusual. As in the rest of Iceland, be careful as hot water gets VERY hot here, for example in shower.

As I have mentioned before the apartment building is a quiet family residency and I ask that you respect that regarding noise. No parties of course, and I hope that it will be a peaceful stay for you as well.

As it´s the Xmas season then some stores and restaurants may be closed, so be advised to google before assuming everything will be open.

I highly suggest the swimming pool (seen by the window, 5 minute walk) and the nice cafe and bakery down the street. If you need small grocery shopping then there is a 7/11 kind of store at the same place. You just walk out of the house, down the street, and turn left at the end of the street. Walk 2 minutes and you´ll see the cafe and grocery store.

Bus nr 12 stops outside, and the one going down the street goes downtown. It only takes coins as far as I know, and does not give change from bills.

When you leave the apartment I ask you to leave the key on the desk inside.

If there are any questions just message me.

Merry Xmas and have a good time.

Sincerely

Svavar
